Same Day Crowns - A Smart Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It enables us to produce crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental innovation, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire treatment takes in between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Normally, a crown in the past would have required two visits. The first visit consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. During the second visit, the short-term crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the entire treatment can be finished in simply one visit. We will use video imaging innovation to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to create the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly sent to a milling machine that sculpts the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to get a temporary in addition to a 2nd appointment.

Restorative dentistry procedures can be very important to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device designed to replace missing teeth. The device is normally constructed of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone where the teeth are missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants provide a smile that looks and feels very natural. Surgically positioned below the gums over a series of appointments, implants connect to the jawbone and act as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants provide stability because they connect to your bone, a procedure called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some individuals also find the secure fit is more comfortable than traditional substitutes. Candidates for dental implants should have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

How Involving Is A Dental Implant?

A dental implant might be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this procedure, a small titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which additionally slows or stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is firmly embeded in the mouth, the dentist then works to connect the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent option has the advantages over bridge work that it does not need the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth break, another can simply be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be utilized as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an option to partial dentures, and has a number of advantages. First, there is no adjustment period to acclimatize the client who, when the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no discomfort or trouble in eating. And, best of all, of course, they do not need to be taken out all the time.
