Why Are These Crowns Called Same Day Crowns?

This cutting edge technology permits your dental practitioner to take accurate images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single appointment. Same day crowns provide unparalleled benefits, value, and accuracy to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of three basic steps. 1st, your dental practitioner uses 3D imaging to take highly precise photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Next, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, develops your custom-fitted crown. From there, your dental practitioner will send out the design to their in-office accuracy milling machine which creates the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for extra strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will position it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We only use dental porcelain and zirconia to create our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations offer incomparable strength, sturdiness, chip and stain resistance, and natural charm.

Precision-fitted same day crowns need less tooth prep work and maintain more of your tooth structure.

Traditional crowns require 2 office visits. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a wonderfully fixed tooth.

You can avoid the trouble and possible risks associated with uncomfortable temporary crowns.

Today's Topic Will Be About:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is essential when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and discover issues early). Sometimes deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal treatment. When this takes place, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and may be really painful. Signs that the pulp has ended up being infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no symptoms are apparent and the person is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. As soon as the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Generally a core build-up and crown is suggested for bring back a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
