  • No need to get a temporary crown

  • Digitally matches the color of your tooth

What Is A Dental Crown?

A crown is a cap made to cover a tooth with the purpose of restoring it to its natural shapes and size or to enhance its appearance. To prepare for the crown, dentists drill to eliminate the decayed area and also form the tooth to get ready for the crown for that part which lies around and above the gum line.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide range of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

The Topic For Today Will Be:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of many patients, there are multiple methods to whiten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Since tooth whitening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous methods: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of everyday use. 3 different strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the higher the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is advised for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely fast and convenient lightening process. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so easy and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays must be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
