If you have a fractured or broken tooth, are experiencing discomfort when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperature levels, or wish to get rid of unsightly metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be an excellent option for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface of the affected tooth, adding resilience and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are a choice that we offer on a case by case basis to clients who would benefit from the procedure. They enable clients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their final dental crown in place that same day. This gets rid of the need to have a temporary crown placed then another visit set up for the placement of the permanent crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our new technology that scans the mouth to obtain the proper measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, and then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are very strong and durable and constructed of the highest quality porcelain available. In some cases, a gold crown might be suggested for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clench your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the expense may differ between the two and you might wish to talk about your budget as well with the your dentist. Your dental practitioner will go over with you the types of crowns available and offer you a recommendation based upon your certain scenario.

Call us to arrange a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to meeting you.

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery might be required to fix a badly damaged joint.
