At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, what are same day crowns and what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have actually now been using this innovation for multiple years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to fix damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in simply one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single appointment, generally in about an hour.

So what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth material and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and start working on the computer.

Everyone likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the designing of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent to the milling system.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not built up layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the machine, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly sculpted to produce your new restoration, which is fantastic.

At last, the customized crown restoration bonded effortlessly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and after that we tidy up!

We have to ensure that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Finding problems with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, costly procedures or surgeries. X-rays are primarily used to identify:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Huge on-screen X-rays make client communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a large format for easier detection of issues, all while reducing the radiation direct exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send and receive your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you quickly.
