ONE DAY CROWNS
NEW YORK NY

Updated On Tuesday, October 23, 2018 06:58:11 PM

Temporary crowns and second visits for crowns are now usually unnecessary thanks to the same day crown technology. We offer this exciting one-visit crown innovation in our office, adding greater convenience to the process of getting a crown. The waiting time in between your treatment and when you get your long-term crown is eliminated.

The same day crown technology is an instrument that permits ceramic restorations (crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays) to be performed in one visit instead of two. The computer coordinates with a digital camera permitting the dental practitioner to make digital impressions without the annoyance of bulky impression material.

After taking the picture the computer takes over and mills your customized crown immediately so that we can cement your brand-new crown that very same day. The results we see are amazing. With the same day crowns, the fit, strength, and aesthetics of the ceramic restorations are outstanding.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a broad scope of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today's Topic Is About:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and identify problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also trigger the nerve to be damaged to the point it needs root canal therapy. As soon as this takes place, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even weaken the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and might be extremely uncomfortable. Symptoms that the pulp has become infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no signs appear and the person is unaware of any issue till a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. Once the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is suggested for recovering a tooth that has had root canal treatment.
