Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays an important function in our practice. This amazing innovation in chair side dentistry gives us the tools to develop, produce, and position crowns, inlays and onlays in a single visit.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The standard method to a crown or inlay and onlay typically needed a return visit after the patient waited (with a short-term restoration in the tooth) for about two weeks while the restoration was manufactured in a separate lab. Same day crown CAD/CAM technology eliminates the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns employ a special camera to take an accurate photo of the broken tooth. This optical impression is moved and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist utilizes CAD (computer-aided design) software to design the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes control of and immediately mills the restoration while the client waits. At last, the new restoration is bonded in place.

The entire procedure takes about one hour, and there are no irritating temporaries or 2nd appointment needed!

Proven Technology

With twenty years of clinical research and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, same day crowns have shown to be a an effective, safe and practical technology that we are delighted to provide to our patients.

Today's Discussion Is About:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of many patients, there are multiple ways to bleach teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth considerably. Since tooth lightening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple approaches: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory makes into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of daily use. 3 different strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely fast and convenient whitening process. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment since it is so simple and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays ought to be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
