SAME DAY DENTAL CROWN

What Are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns are a new innovation that a dental expert can economically bring back damaged teeth in a single appointment using a premium ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How Does It Work?

Same day crowns use a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, incorporating a camera, computer and a milling device in one instrument. The dentist uses a unique camera to take an accurate image of the broken tooth. This optical impression is downloaded and shown on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner uses CAD innovation to develop the restoration. Then CAM takes over and instantly produces the restoration while the client waits. Finally, the dentist bonds the brand-new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The entire procedure takes about one hour.

Exactly What Does This Innovation Mean For A Client?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, suitable with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. Dental practitioners no longer have to develop temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the standard second appointment has been eliminated. This brand-new technology has over 10 years of scientific research and documentation to support it. The restorations have been proven accurate, safe and efficient.

Today's Discussion Has To Do With:

Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and appealing smile.

Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Just like many dental restorations, veneers might someday require replacement; however, they are still extremely long lasting and will last years, providing you a long lasting, beautiful smile.

How Are Veneers Applied?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct technique normally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect method normally involves 2 appointments because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is generally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care directions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and beautiful veneers.
