What Are Single Visit Dental Crowns?

Same day crowns are a brand-new technology that a dental expert can economically restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic product that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How Does It Work?

Same day crowns use a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, incorporating a camera, computer and a milling device in one instrument. The dentist uses a unique camera to take an precise picture of the broken tooth. This optical impression is downloaded and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner uses CAD innovation to create the restoration. Then CAM takes over and automatically develops the restoration while the client waits. Finally, the dental practitioner bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The whole procedure takes about one hour.

What Does This Technology Mean For A Patient?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, suitable with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. Dentists no longer need to develop temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the standard second appointment has been eliminated. This brand-new innovation has over a decade of medical research and documentation to support it. The restorations have actually been proven accurate, safe and efficient.

A Stunning Smile!

A beautiful smile is among your biggest assets - a reflection of joy and good health.

Now, thanks to current innovations in dentistry, getting the smile you constantly dreamed of is easier - and faster than ever.

So, if you have better things to do with your time, please call our office. We're delighted to show you the difference same day crowns can make.

Today's Topic Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Detecting problems with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, costly treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly used to find:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Huge on-screen X-rays make client communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a large format for much easier detection of problems, all while reducing the radiation direct exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent establishing and installing x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you quickly.
