The restoration is metal-free and the state-of-the-art ceramic material and is compatible with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

Throughout your visit, you and your dental practitioner will go over the details of the treatment and your dental practitioner will address any concerns you might have concerning the procedure or porcelain crowns in general.

Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a picture of your tooth. Using the brand-new exclusive software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, it will use a diamond burs to produce your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Dental Crowns

A crown (or cap) is a covering that covers the whole tooth surface area restoring it to its original sizes and shape. A crown protects and reinforces the tooth structure giving the tooth a longer life span than it would have if brought back by fillings or other types of restorations.

Crowns are full coverage restorations that are utilized to cover a tooth that is most likely to break, or is too broken down to be recovered with a filling. They are most typically done after root canal treatments, or when a huge filling breaks. The bigger the hole made by a cavity that needs to be treated, the more likely a crown will be needed. Even after a filling is put in a large cavity, a tooth is most likely to break. Keep in mind that the jaw muscles are the strongest in the human body. Teeth undergo tremendous pressures. Crowns ride over the weakened tooth, providing strength and protecting the tooth against breakage. A busted or split tooth is a far more severe matter and much more hard to treat. Crowns prevent this, in addition to making for a nice smile.

It takes 2 visits to bring back a tooth with a crown. In the first visit any decay is removed from the tooth and it is shaped to accept the crown. Then an impression is made of the tooth for use in producing a crown. Between the two visits the crown is made, normally of high-strength porcelain over gold alloy, all ceramic material, or gold. A short-term crown is used throughout this time. In the 2nd visit this temporary crown is removed. Then the {permanent crown is adjusted as needed and after that cemented in place.

Exactly What Does Getting A Crown Include?

A crown procedure typically requires two visits. Your first visit will consist of taking impressions that will be used to develop your custom crown. A mold will also be utilized to create a short-term crown which will remain on your tooth for around two weeks up until your new crown is fabricated by a dental lab.

While the tooth is numb, the dental practitioner will prepare the tooth by getting rid of any decay and shaping the surface area to correctly fit the crown. When these details are accomplished, your short-term crown will be put with short-term cement and your bite will be examined to guarantee you are biting correctly.

At your 2nd visit your temporary crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your brand-new crown will be carefully positioned to make sure the spacing and bite are accurate.

You will be given care directions and encouraged to have routine dental visits to inspect your crown. As always, correct oral hygiene will help extend the life of your new crown.
