Today's Subject Is:

Dentures (Dental)

There are different types of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.

The whole mouth is analyzed and a determination is made about which teeth will need to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are placed in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal performance and look return and one simply carries on as usual. Commonly implants can be used to further support the dentures.

It is essential to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the kind of food you are able to eat, your self-confidence in social scenarios, and even your self-confidence.

Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the very same arch

  • Restore chewing ability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other treatments

An upper complete denture will almost always feel much better than a lower full denture. In order to significantly enhance the fit of a lower complete denture, we frequently suggest utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants placed in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially enhance comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be put in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for multiple years.
