What Are Same Day Dental Crowns?

The single visit crown is a technology for fixing broken teeth, and this restoration can be finished in a single appointment to the dentist's office. It makes your teeth tougher and more gorgeous, all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free, and the state-of-the-art ceramic product is compatible with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

More About The Same Day Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dentist will talk about the details of the treatment and your dental practitioner will answer any questions you may have. Your dentist will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a picture of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

The Topic For Today Is:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of a lot of patients, there are a number of ways to whiten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth significantly. Because tooth whitening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous methods: customizeded tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of daily use. 3 different strengths of gel might be used, however, the higher the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is recommended for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely fast and practical whitening procedure. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients love this treatment because it is so easy and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays must be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
