The Conversation Of The Day Will Be:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment in which we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific circumstances where a tooth has actually been damaged or become stained. These are usually small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively inexpensive methods rather than through a more costly dental treatment.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a lustrous finish as a last step.
