3 Reasons To Choose Same Day Crowns

If you've ever actually had a crown positioned over one of your teeth before, you know that the procedure usually involves at least 2 appointments to the dental practitioner and the positioning of a short-term crown before you getting your long-term one.

However, there is a new treatment for installing crowns that can enable you to get a long-term crown the same day. As the name indicates, same day crown machines enables crowns to be produced right there close to the dentist's chair.

Have a look at a couple of reasons same day crowns might be right for you.

Natural Looking Teeth

Same day crowns are made entirely of ceramic, removing the requirement for metal. While metal crowns are completely practical and safe, they're typically thought as less appealing than ceramic.

Ceramic crowns more closely resemble your natural enamel, making them an aesthetically preferable choice, particularly for highly-visible front teeth.

Same day crown machines can match the crown exactly to the shade of your natural teeth.

Saves Time And Money

Every hour you invest at the dentist's office is an hour off work or away from another activity or obligation.

Needing to go back to the dental practitioner's office several times for one treatment may mean getting time off at work authorized for more than one day, getting a sitter for more than one day, or filling your car with gas to drive out of your way more than once in a short time-span.

However you take a look at it, numerous dental appointments cost you money, in addition to exactly what you're investing in the dental treatment. Getting everything carried out in one visit saves time, and time is cash.

Saves More Natural Teeth

The device used in the same day crown treatment takes a digital scan of your tooth and then is used to mill the crown on the spot, using the precise specs supplied by the digital scan.

This enables the dental practitioner to preserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, which is the healthiest alternative for your jaw.

This also enables the dentist to use the machine to create inlays or onlays. These are partial crowns, used when you require more coverage than a filling will offer but less than a complete crown.

Thanks to the more precise digital measurements offered by the same day crown device, teeth that may once have actually required a full crown might now be candidates for only a partial crown.

If you know that one of your broken teeth will most likely need a crown, make sure to make a visit with our dentists today.

Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)

Veneers are a very thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a lovely and appealing smile.

Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers may at some point need replacement; however, they are still extremely durable and will last years, providing you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is put over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct technique normally involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is typically referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy typically involves 2 visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is generally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care directions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your new and stunning veneers.
