Single Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be requiring a dental procedure that will cause you to require a dental crown? If so, you might be beginning to fear the time you will need to invest at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we provide a terrific time-saving solution for you. We offer same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have expert and highly-trained dentists on staff. At our dental practice we incorporate advanced technology and treatments to provide our patients with the very best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For clients who have to get dental crowns, we are extremely happy to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is typically made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help strengthen the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to reinforce a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely visual reasons, such as to cover a significantly tarnished tooth that needs to be brought back to its initial, attractive appearance.

Usually getting a dental crown is a lengthy procedure. The dental practitioner will have to take impressions, provide you with a short-term crown, await the crown to be returned from a laboratory, and after that have you go back to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about two hours.

Our same day crowns are produced in our practice thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM represents "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take pictures which are then computer-analyzed and used to create a crown.

This crown is really milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth exactly and remove any need to send out impressions or pictures to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, eliminating the need to return for a second visit.

You also will not need to get a short-term crown, given that our permanent crown will be instantly available to you.

If you wish to meet our dentist to find out more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, call our practice.

Today's Topic Will Be About:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of a lot of clients, there are multiple methods to whiten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will lighten teeth considerably. Since tooth bleaching just works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists use a number of techniques: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory makes into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of everyday use. 3 different strengths of gel might be used, however, the higher the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is advised for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take numerous months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and practical whitening procedure. The visit is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays should be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
