Single Visit Dental Crowns With Advanced Technology

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It allows us to develop crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most innovative dental technology, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire procedure takes in between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Typically, a crown in the past would have required two appointments. The first appointment includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. During the 2nd visit, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the entire treatment can be finished in just one visit. We will use video imaging technology to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly sent to a milling device that sculpts the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to wear a temporary along with a second appointment.

Corrective dentistry procedures can be essential to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

Today's Topic Is About:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of many clients, there are a number of methods to lighten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. Because tooth whitening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use a number of methods: custom made tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab makes into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of day-to-day use. Three various strengths of gel might be used, however, the higher the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and convenient whitening process. The appointment is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment because it is so easy and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays ought to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
