Our practice likes new innovations, particularly when it improves the dental care that we can supply to our clients. Because of this we now provide same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a remarkable brand-new technology where beautiful all porcelain crowns are developed within two hours of the prep work of a tooth for a crown. The old process was where the dental practitioner prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a lab to have the crown built. During this time the patient would need to wear a temporary plastic crown that was always uncomfy.

Today, our devices permits us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a brand-new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the patient leaves our practice with the permanent crown that day!

  • There's no need to have a short-term crown for 2 to 3 weeks.

  • There is no need to return once more to have the single visit crown placed on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed once again! No more needles!

Our office likes same day crowns because it is made of lovely material as well as very long lasting.

If your interested in a same day crown, please give our office a call.

Today's Discussion Has To Do With:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of patients, there are numerous ways to bleach teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth significantly. Since tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize numerous methods: customizeded tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory fabricates into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. 3 different strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is suggested for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and convenient bleaching procedure. The visit is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment because it is so simple and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
