Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)
Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a lovely and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to a lot of dental restorations, veneers might one day require replacement; however, they are still really durable and will last years, giving you a long lasting, stunning smile.
How Are Veneers Applied?
Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy generally involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is typically referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique generally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care directions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and stunning veneers.
