At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, what are same day crowns and what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have now been using this innovation for many years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to fix damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single visit, usually in about an hour.

So what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth product and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and begin working with the computer.

Everyone enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent to the milling system.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not developed layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the device, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly sculpted to produce your new restoration, which is wonderful.

At last, the custom made crown restoration bonded flawlessly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and then we tidy up!

We need to ensure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. Today's Conversation Will Be About:

Porcelain Tooth Veneers

Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and attractive smile.

Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Just like a lot of dental restorations, veneers may at some point require replacement; however, they are still really durable and will last multiple years, offering you a long lasting, lovely smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct method normally involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique usually involves 2 appointments because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and beautiful veneers.
