The Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental treatment that is typically needed when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has broken down to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Typical crowns are relatively bothersome to obtain, however there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a great option since they are more convenient and lead to less pain:

A Lot Less Pain

A standard crown can lead to pain for a few reasons, however among the biggest sources of discomfort and pain is an outcome of needing to wear a temporary crown.

A short-term crown is applied as a placeholder to safeguard your exposed tooth till your long-term crown can be provided to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks.

The problem with a short-term crown is that they are not very strong, which indicates that they can break or come loose very quickly.

A busted or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both of which can trigger quite a bit of pain if they reach the exposed nerves below the temporary crown.

Another source of pain comes from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get fairly uncomfortable and begin to bleed, which also opens up the course for possible infections.

Luckily, a same-day crown will provide you with a long-term crown at the end of your very first visit to the dentist.

This eliminates the need for a short-term crown, thus enabling you to avoid all of the pain and discomfort.

Makes Sense

A standard crown is not a very convenient treatment to have performed, primarily due to the fact that it usually takes a minimum of 2 appointments to finish.

If your short-term crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will need to make another visit to have it replaced. This can be a huge problem if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents taking some time off in the middle of a busy work day.

Nevertheless, a same-day crown can be finished in a single day, with a single appointment. This is enabled due to the fact that numerous dentists will buy the equipment to make their own crowns, rather than having to buy crowns from a dental laboratory.

This lets you prevent the trouble of having to possibly invest weeks and several appointments to your dental practitioner before the procedure is over and finished with.

Speak with your dentist and inquire about the benefits offered by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can provide you with a practical and reasonably pain-free alternative to a conventional crown.

Today's Topic Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Detecting problems with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, pricey treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mostly utilized to find:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Big on-screen X-rays make client communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and precisely.

Digital radiography has greatly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the physician to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a large format for easier detection of problems, all while reducing the radiation exposure to the patient. The process we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you quickly.
