If You Want A Dental Crown This Is Probably The Best Choice

Getting a crown has actually long been known to be a two-visit dental experience. Many individuals have no idea that this is not the case with same day crowns. For our lucky clients, getting a crown only takes one appointment!

The Old Fashion Two Visit Way

At the first visit, impressions are taken of the tooth and the impression is sent out to a lab so that your permanent crown can be made. Many individuals do not like the goopy impression materials that can make them gag which takes up to 5 minutes in their mouth to set.

Then your tooth is shaved down so that your crown can be positioned on top of it. Then you get a short-term crown cemented over the shaved tooth to hold you over till your permanent crown shows up from the lab. Then later, you have to go back in to the dentist, have the short-term crown taken out and the new crown placed on your tooth

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used in a broad scope of indications: onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers and inlays.

Today's Discussion Is About:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Identifying issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are primarily utilized to find:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Large on-screen X-rays make client communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the doctor to see images of the teeth in higher resolution on a huge format for easier detection of problems, all while reducing the radiation direct exposure to the client. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent establishing and installing x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also enables us to send and receive your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
