There are different types of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have actually become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.
The entire mouth is examined and a decision is made regarding which teeth will have to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are placed in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular functionality and appearance return and one just carries on as usual. Frequently implants can be utilized to further support the dentures.
It is very important to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you have the ability to eat, your self-confidence in social circumstances, and even your self-esteem.
Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the exact same arch
- Restore chewing capability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other treatments
An upper complete denture will almost always feel better than a lower complete denture. In order to significantly enhance the fit of a lower full denture, we regularly suggest utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and significantly improve comfort. In some cases, the implants can even be placed in the jaw after a denture has been in use for multiple years.
