Same Day Crowns - A Smart Innovation

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It enables us to produce crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most sophisticated dental innovation, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole procedure takes in between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Normally, a crown in the past would have required 2 appointments. The very first visit includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. Throughout the second visit, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the entire procedure can be finished in just one visit. We will use video imaging innovation to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transferred to a milling device that carves the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to wear a temporary along with a second appointment.

Restorative dentistry procedures can be extremely important to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

The Conversation For Today Will Be:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of most clients, there are numerous methods to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will lighten teeth significantly. Because tooth whitening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple techniques: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab makes into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of everyday use. 3 various strengths of gel may be used, however, the higher the strength, the higher the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is advised for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take numerous months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and hassle-free bleaching procedure. The visit is roughly one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment because it is so easy and quick!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
