Don't have time for the typical 2 dental visit crown?

Technology today is changing our daily lives. Many individuals, however, aren't aware that innovation also is impacting dentistry in brand-new and exciting methods.

Advanced developments in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, causing less pain and producing satisfying results.

One breakthrough instrument, called same day crowns, permits dentists to rapidly fix damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, conserving patients time and trouble.

Exactly what are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns, mean that a dental practitioner can economically fix damaged teeth in a single visit using a premium ceramic product that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How does it work?

Same day crowns use CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, integrating a camera, computer, and milling machine in one instrument.

The dentist uses a special camera to take a precise image of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and shown on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner uses CAD innovation to design the restoration. The CAM takes over and automatically develops the restoration while the patient waits.

Finally, the dental practitioner bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The whole procedure takes about 2 hours.

Exactly what does this innovation do for a client?

A tooth-colored restoration indicates no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

Dentists no longer have to create temporaries or take impressions and send them to a laboratory. Because of this, the conventional 2nd visit has been eliminated.

Same day crowns have 20 years of clinical research study and paperwork to promote the technology. The restorations have been shown precise, safe and effective.

How can I learn if this is an choice for me?

The Topic For Today Will Be:

Ultra Sonic Cleanings

We use ultrasonic scalers for many adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners create tiny bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, eliminating microorganisms and removing plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help preserve optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling typically uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning appropriate to those with delicate teeth.

  • The cleaning process is quicker than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have actually been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and then polished.
