One Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be needing a dental treatment that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you might be starting to fear the time you will need to spend at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we provide a excellent time-saving solution for you. We offer same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we integrate state-of-the-art innovations and treatments to supply our patients with the best restorative, preventive, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For clients who need to get dental crowns, we are very happy to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is usually made of porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help reinforce the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to connect bridges, as the top part of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to strengthen a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a severely discolored tooth that has to be restored to its original, appealing appearance.

Typically getting a dental crown is a prolonged procedure. The dentist will have to take impressions, provide you with a temporary crown, await the crown to be returned from a laboratory, then have you return to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about two hours.

Our same day crowns are developed in our practice thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM represents "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to create a crown.

This crown is actually milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and get rid of any need to send impressions or photos to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to return for a second appointment.

You also will not have to get a temporary crown, given that our permanent crown will be immediately available to you.

If you wish to consult with our dentist for more information about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, call our office.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure where we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in certain circumstances where a tooth has been damaged or ended up being stained. These are usually small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable means instead of through a more expensive dental procedure.

How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the alignment of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to get a lustrous finish as a last step.
