Same day crowns are an advanced dental technology that is used for the restoration of decayed, cracked, or cracked teeth. This technology can develop complete crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown machine crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made of compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are more durable than lab restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of receiving a same day crown restoration is that it is accomplished in one appointment. In addition to the benefit of a one appointment restoration, there is no unpleasant impression material to bite on or a short-term crown to wear.

The procedure for placement of a same day crown restoration is extremely simple. The primary step is to eliminate all degeneration from the tooth. The dentist will then shape the tooth in preparation to take a digital photo. The tooth is then sprayed with a really fine powder. This enables the digital camera to take an appropriate image. As soon as this image is captured, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will allow the dentist to create the restoration right in front of you.

When the design is completed, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes around 15 minutes. You can actually watch this process if you would like. When the restoration is finished milling, the dental practitioner will position the restoration on your tooth.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and discover issues early). Often deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal therapy. Once this occurs, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be very unpleasant. Signs that the pulp has become infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no symptoms are apparent and the person is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. Once the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Generally a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
