PORCELAIN CROWNS BEFORE AND AFTER
HOWELLS NEBRASKA

Updated On Sunday, October 21, 2018 03:41:20 AM

If you have a fractured or broken tooth, are experiencing pain when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperatures, or wish to eliminate unattractive metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be an excellent alternative for you. Dental Crowns cover the visible surface area of the affected tooth, adding resilience and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are a choice that we offer on a case by case basis to clients who would benefit from the treatment. They enable patients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their permanent dental crown in place that same day. This removes the need to have a short-term crown placed and then another appointment arranged for the positioning of the permanent crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our brand-new technology that scans the mouth to obtain the appropriate measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, and then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are very strong and long lasting and constructed out of the highest quality porcelain available. Sometimes, a gold crown might be recommended for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clench your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the expense may vary between the two and you might wish to talk about your budget plan too with the your dentist. Your dental practitioner will go over with you the types of crowns available and offer you a recommendation based upon your particular situation.

Call us to set up a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to talking to you.

Today's Subject Is:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of the majority of patients, there are numerous methods to lighten teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will lighten teeth significantly. Because tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists use a number of methods: custom made tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of daily use. 3 different strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the higher the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is suggested for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and practical bleaching process. The appointment is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients like this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and quick!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays ought to be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
