What's So Great About Same Day Crowns?

In a typical dental practice, getting dental crowns is a long and often an uncomfortable process that can take multiple weeks to finish. However, our practice uses same day crown innovation, which enables us to scan, design, and mill beautiful tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Picture entering our dental office to get a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, long lasting, and visually pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more details!

More About The Same Day Crown Process

During your visit, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the information of the treatment and your dental practitioner will address any concerns you may have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a picture of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be developed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of many clients, there are numerous methods to whiten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth significantly. Because tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize numerous methods: customizeded tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of everyday use. Three different strengths of gel may be used, however, the higher the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and practical whitening procedure. The visit is roughly one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays should be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
