At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, what are same day crowns and exactly what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have now been using this technology for many years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that enables us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in simply one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that feel and look like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, generally in about an hour.

So what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth product and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and start working on the computer.

Everyone likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent to the milling unit.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the machine, which is much stronger.

The block is then exactly carved to produce your new restoration, which is wonderful.

Finally, the custom made crown restoration bonded effortlessly into the tooth, strengthening and sealing it at the same time and then we tidy up!

We need to make certain that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

Today Were Talking About:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of many clients, there are numerous ways to lighten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Because tooth whitening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous techniques: customizeded tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is advised for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take numerous months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and practical lightening procedure. The visit is roughly one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and fast!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
