There are different types of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.
The entire mouth is analyzed and a determination is made about which teeth will need to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are put in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal functionality and appearance return and one just continues as usual. Commonly implants can be utilized to further stabilize the dentures.
It is essential to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you have the ability to eat, your confidence in social scenarios, as well as your self-esteem.
A Couple Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the very same arch
- Restore chewing ability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other procedures
An upper full denture will almost always feel much better than a lower full denture. In order to dramatically enhance the fit of a lower complete denture, we often suggest using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants placed in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially enhance comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be placed in the jaw after a denture has been in use for multiple years.
