Some Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental procedure that is often required when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually degraded to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Typical crowns are fairly troublesome to get, but there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a terrific choice due to the fact that they are easier and lead to less pain:

A Lot Less Pain

A standard crown can lead to discomfort for a couple of factors, but one of the biggest sources of pain and discomfort is an outcome of needing to get a temporary crown.

A short-term crown is used as a placeholder to safeguard your exposed tooth up until your long-term crown can be provided to your dentist. This can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

The issue with a short-term crown is that they are not really strong, which indicates that they can break or come loose really quickly.

A broken or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both of which can cause quite a bit of discomfort if they reach the exposed nerves below the short-term crown.

Another source of pain comes from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get rather uncomfortable and begin to bleed, which also opens the course for possible infections.

Thankfully, a same-day crown will offer you with a long-term crown at the end of your first visit to the dentist.

This gets rid of the need for a temporary crown, therefore enabling you to avoid all the pain and discomfort.

Convenient

A conventional crown is not a very practical procedure to have performed, mainly because it typically takes at least two visits to finish.

If your short-term crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will have to make another visit to have it replaced. This can be a big problem if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that discourages requiring time off in the middle of a hectic work day.

However, a same-day crown can be completed in a single day, with a single visit. This is made possible due to the fact that many dentists will buy the devices to make their own crowns, instead of having to order crowns from a dental lab.

This lets you avoid the hassle of needing to possibly spend weeks and numerous appointments to your dental practitioner before the procedure is over and done with.

Speak to your dental practitioner and inquire about the benefits offered by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can offer you with a hassle-free and relatively pain-free alternative to a conventional crown.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Ultrasonic Tooth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for a lot of adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners develop tiny bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microorganisms and eliminating plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help preserve optimal gingival health.

  • The treatment only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can eliminate tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling commonly uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning suitable to those with sensitive teeth.

  • The cleaning process is faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have actually been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and then polished.
