There are different kinds of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.
The whole mouth is analyzed and a determination is made about which teeth will need to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal functionality and look return and one just continues as usual. Often implants can be used to further support the dentures.
It is essential to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you have the ability to eat, your confidence in social situations, as well as your self-confidence.
Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the same arch
- Restore chewing ability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other procedures
An upper full denture will usually feel much better than a lower full denture. In order to considerably enhance the fit of a lower full denture, we regularly recommend utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants positioned in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and considerably improve comfort. In some cases, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for a number of years.
