CROWNS IN A DAY
WEST MINOT ME

Updated On Thursday, November 15, 2018 05:21:09 AM

Same day crowns are an advanced dental technology that is utilized for the restoration of decayed, broken, or chipped teeth. This technology can produce complete crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown machine crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made of compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are stronger than lab restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most useful feature of receiving a same day crown restoration is that it is achieved in one visit. In addition to the advantage of a one visit restoration, there is no uncomfortable impression material to bite on or a temporary crown to wear.

The treatment for placement of a same day crown restoration is very easy. The primary step is to remove all degeneration from the tooth. The dentist will then shape the tooth in preparation to take a digital image. The tooth is then sprayed with a very fine powder. This enables the digital camera to take an acceptable image. Once this image is captured, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will enable the dental practitioner to design the restoration right in front of you.

Once the design is finished, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes around 15 minutes. You can actually see this procedure if you would like. When the restoration is finished milling, the dental practitioner will position the restoration on your tooth.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a full scope of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

The Topic Of The Day Is:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment where we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific circumstances where a tooth has been broken or become stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable methods rather than through a more pricey dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the alignment of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
