Porcelain Teeth Veneers
Veneers are a really thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Just like a lot of dental restorations, veneers may someday require replacement; however, they are still extremely durable and will last years, providing you a long lasting, stunning smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct technique normally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is usually referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy usually involves two appointments because the veneers will be made at a dental lab. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care directions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and gorgeous veneers.
