Same day crowns are a dental restoration innovation that permits a dentist to produce an indirect ceramic dental restoration using computer-assisted innovations, including 3-D photography and CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing).

Same day crowns permits dental practitioners the versatility to restore teeth in a single sitting with a patient, instead of the several appointments required with other methods!

Same day crowns have been proven by hundreds of medical research studies and is offered by countless dentists to countless clients worldwide each year!

Same day crowns not only conserves you time and money, it can also conserve your teeth!

Dental X-rays are not able to penetrate metal crowns, making any decay undetected up until it was far too late.

Same day crowns use a strong porcelain that x-rays can penetrate. This indicates any decay underneath the restoration can be discovered and treated before it becomes a major problem.

Because same day crown innovation use a milling device to mill the ceramic into your custom restoration, the porcelain is more durable than those produced by hand. And, the computer-assisted technology can develop an almost similar restoration of the previous tooth.

Dental Crowns

A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface area restoring it to its initial shape and size. A crown protects and reinforces the tooth structure giving the tooth a longer life span than it would have if brought back by fillings or other kinds of restorations.

Crowns are full coverage restorations that are used to cover a tooth that is likely to break, or is too broken down to be brought back with a filling. They are most commonly done after root canal treatments, or when a big filling breaks. The bigger the hole made by a cavity that needs to be treated, the more likely a crown will be required. Even after a filling is put in a large cavity, a tooth is more likely to break. Remember that the jaw muscles are the strongest in the human body. Teeth undergo tremendous pressures. Crowns ride over the weakened tooth, offering strength and securing the tooth against damage. A broken or split tooth is a much more severe matter and a lot more tough to treat. Crowns prevent this, in addition to producing a good smile.

It takes two visits to restore a tooth with a crown. In the very first appointment any decay is removed from the tooth and it is shaped to accept the crown. Then an impression is made of the tooth for use in fabricating a crown. In between the two visits the crown is made, generally of high-strength porcelain over gold alloy, all ceramic product, or gold. A temporary crown is used throughout this time. In the 2nd visit this short-term crown is removed. Then the {permanent crown is adjusted as needed then cemented in place.

Exactly What Does Getting A Crown Include?

A crown treatment typically requires 2 visits. Your first appointment will include taking impressions that will be used to develop your custom crown. A mold will also be utilized to create a temporary crown which will remain on your tooth for roughly 2 weeks till your new crown is produced by a dental lab.

While the tooth is numb, the dental practitioner will prepare the tooth by removing any decay and shaping the surface area to properly fit the crown. As soon as these details are achieved, your short-term crown will be placed with temporary cement and your bite will be inspected to ensure you are biting properly.

At your second appointment your short-term crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your new crown will be carefully positioned to ensure the spacing and bite are precise.

You will be given care guidelines and encouraged to have regular dental check ups to examine your crown. As always, correct oral hygiene will help extend the life of your brand-new crown.
