Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are a very thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a beautiful and appealing smile.
Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Just like most dental restorations, veneers might one day need replacement; however, they are still really long lasting and will last years, offering you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is put over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct technique normally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is usually referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique generally involves two visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the very first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care directions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and gorgeous veneers.
