The Benefits Of Getting Single Visit Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It allows you to have your dental crown put in place in simply one dental appointment.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which copies the look of your natural teeth thus making it aesthetically pleasing. It does not trigger temperature sensitivity which holds true in the case of dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same sturdiness as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more precise. The impression made from this new innovation is more precise compared with standard impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while standard dental impression is done using salt alignate.

The only downside of a same day crown is that not all patients are candidates for this treatment. Clients with substantial tooth damage that has actually reached the gum line requires a traditional crown instead of a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth requires a laboratory-manufactured crown due to the fact that they are thoroughly made than same day crowns.

If you are interested with this kind of procedure or you have more questions or concerns regarding same day crowns, call us today.

Today's Topic Is About:

Gum Disease (Periodontal Disease)

Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. Since gum disease is usually pain-free, you might not know you have it. Also referred to as periodontal disease, gum disease is caused by plaque, the sticky film of bacteria that is continuously forming on our teeth.

Some warning signs that may signal an issue:

  • gums that bleed too quickly.

  • red, swollen, tender gums.

  • gums that have actually pulled away from the teeth.

  • persistent foul breath or bad taste.

  • permanent teeth that are separating or loose.

  • any change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite.

  • any difference in the fit of partial dentures.

There are lots of aspects that increase the risk of developing gum disease consisting of smoking cigarettes, pregnancy, and diabetes. It is important to visit your dentist if you believe you have gum disease because the sooner you treat it the better.

The early stage of gum disease is called gingivitis. If you have gingivitis, your gums might become red, swollen and bleed quickly. At this stage, the disease is still fixable and can typically be eliminated by a professional cleaning at your dental office, followed by everyday flossing and brushing.

Advanced gum disease is called periodontitis. Chronic periodontitis can lead to the loss of bone and tissue that support the teeth and it might become more extreme over time. If it does, your teeth will feel loose and begin moving around in your mouth. It normally worsens slowly, but there can be periods of rapid progression.

Aggressive periodontitis is a highly destructive kind of periodontal disease that takes place in patients who are otherwise healthy. Common features include rapid loss of bone and tissue and may occur in some areas of the mouth, or in the entire mouth.

Research in between systemic diseases and periodontal diseases is ongoing. While a link is not conclusive, some research studies suggest that serious periodontal disease may be associated with numerous other health conditions such as stroke or diabetes.

Regular dental examinations and gum examinations are very important. The treatment methods that most dentists diagnose will depend upon the kind of disease and how far the condition has advanced. Good dental care at home is necessary to help keep periodontal disease from becoming more severe or recurring.
