Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays an essential function in our practice. This amazing development in chair side dentistry offers us the tools to design, produce, and set crowns, inlays and onlays in a single visit.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The traditional approach to a crown or inlay and onlay typically needed a return appointment after the client waited (with a short-term restoration in the tooth) for about two weeks while the restoration was produced in a different lab. Same day crown CAD/CAM innovation eliminates the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns utilize a special camera to take an accurate picture of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD (computer-aided design) software to develop the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes over and immediately mills the restoration while the patient waits. At last, the brand-new restoration is bonded in place.

The whole procedure takes about one hour, and there are no annoying temporaries or 2nd visit needed!

Proven Technology

With twenty years of clinical research and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, same day crowns have shown to be a an reliable, safe and hassle-free technology that we are delighted to provide to our patients.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a broad range of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

Today's Topic Will Be:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery may be required to repair a badly damaged joint.
