Requiring any type of dental work completed can seem like a hassel, however it is necessary to follow up on when it comes to preserving your oral health. Some individuals may postpone visiting their dental practitioner or having certain dental procedures completed simply because they believe that the experience may take up too much of their time. When it pertains to same day dental crowns that is simply not the case, as we can offer our patients with same day dental crowns should they need it.

Although dental crowns are considered along with other treatments that fall under the cosmetic dentistry classification, they can help to greatly enhance any individual's oral health. Dental crowns are mostly used to restore the size, shape, and function of a tooth. Most typically, dental crowns are used following a root canal therapy procedure wherein a portion of the tooth mass is removed in order to get rid of decayed portions of the tooth. A dental crown is then used to help restore exactly what parts of the tooth were lost so that it can function as it once did, restoring the oral well being of the patient.

In some cases, dental crowns require time to process and are crafted in a laboratory while the patient uses a temporary crown in its stead. Now we can provide clients with same day dental crowns! Instead of needing to visit us multiple times before restoring your tooth, we can provide you with a crown the same day that you come in to get one fitted.

If you need a dental crown, you will not have to wait and schedule multiple visits. Do not let your dental health go forgotten due to the fact that you don't have the time. If you wish to learn more about same day dental crowns, call us and arrange an appointment today.

Today's Conversation Will Be About:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of many patients, there are a number of ways to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will whiten teeth considerably. Since tooth whitening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous approaches: customizeded tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab makes into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is advised for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and practical lightening procedure. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment since it is so simple and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
