What Is So Great About Same Day Crowns?

In a common dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and frequently an uncomfortable process that can take multiple weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown innovation, which allows us to scan, design, and mill gorgeous tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Picture entering our dental office to get a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, long lasting, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more information!

More About The Same Day Crown Process

Throughout your visit, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the details of the procedure and your dental practitioner will answer any questions you might have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be developed according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

Today's Discussion Is About:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouth piece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If unattended and required to extremes, surgery might be required to fix a severely damaged joint.
