3 Reasons To Consider Same Day Crowns

If you've ever actually had a crown positioned over one of your teeth before, you know that the process typically includes at least 2 appointments to the dentist and the positioning of a short-term crown prior to you getting your long-term one.

However, there is a new treatment for getting crowns that can permit you to get a long-term crown the same day. As the name indicates, same day crown devices permits crowns to be produced right there next to the dentist's chair.

Take a look at a few reasons why same day crowns might be right for you.

Better Looking Teeth

Same day crowns are made completely of ceramic, getting rid of the need for metal. While metal crowns are completely practical and safe, they're typically considered less attractive than ceramic.

Ceramic crowns more closely resemble your natural enamel, making them an aesthetically preferable choice, especially for highly-visible front teeth.

Same day crown devices can match the crown exactly to the shade of your natural teeth.

Less Wasted Time And Money

Every hour you invest at the dentist's office is an hour off work or away from another activity or responsibility.

Needing to go back to the dental practitioner's office numerous times for one procedure may mean getting time off at work authorized for more than one day, getting a babysitter for more than one day, or filling your vehicle with gas to drive out of your way more than once in a brief time-span.

However you take a look at it, multiple dental appointments cost you cash, in addition to what you're investing in the dental procedure. Getting everything done in one visit conserves time, and time is cash.

Conserves More Natural Teeth

The machine used in the same day crown procedure takes a digital scan of your tooth and then is used to mill the crown on the spot, using the precise requirements offered by the digital scan.

This enables the dental practitioner to keep as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, which is the healthiest choice for your jaw.

This also enables the dentist to use the machine to produce inlays or onlays. These are partial crowns, used when you need more coverage than a filling will offer but less than a full crown.

Thanks to the more accurate digital measurements offered by the same day crown device, teeth that might once have needed a complete crown might now be prospects for only a partial crown.

If you think that one of your broken teeth will probably need a crown, make sure to make an appointment with our dental practitioners today.

Today We Will Be Reviewing:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure where we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in certain circumstances where a tooth has actually been damaged or become stained. These are normally small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly affordable means instead of through a more pricey dental treatment.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the positioning of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to obtain a shiny finish as a last step.
