Same day crowns are an sophisticated dental technology that is used for the restoration of decayed, split, or chipped teeth. This innovation can create complete crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown device crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made of compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are stronger than lab restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of receiving a same day crown restoration is that it is achieved in one appointment. In addition to the benefit of a one appointment restoration, there is no unpleasant impression product to bite on or a temporary crown to wear.

The procedure for positioning of a same day crown restoration is very simple. The first step is to get rid of all decay from the tooth. The dentist will then shape the tooth in preparation to take a digital picture. The tooth is then sprayed with a really fine powder. This enables the digital camera to take an appropriate image. When this image is recorded, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will enable the dental practitioner to create the restoration right in front of you.

When the design is finished, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes approximately 15 minutes. You can actually see this process if you would like. When the restoration is completed milling, the dentist will position the restoration on your tooth.

The Topic For Today Will Be:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also trigger the nerve to be damaged to the point it needs root canal treatment. As soon as this occurs, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it should be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be very unpleasant. Symptoms that the pulp has actually ended up being infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no symptoms appear and the person is unaware of any problem until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. When the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is suggested for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
