Some Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental procedure that is often needed when somebody's tooth is broken or if the tooth has broken down to the point where a filling will not work.

Normal crowns are relatively bothersome to get, but there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a fantastic choice because they are easier and lead to less pain:

Less Pain

A traditional crown can lead to discomfort for a few reasons, but among the biggest sources of pain and discomfort is an outcome of needing to get a temporary crown.

A temporary crown is applied as a placeholder to protect your exposed tooth till your permanent crown can be provided to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks.

The problem with a temporary crown is that they are not extremely strong, which means that they can break or come loose extremely easily.

A damaged or loose short-term crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both which can trigger quite a bit of discomfort if they reach the exposed nerves underneath the temporary crown.

Another source of pain originates from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get quite agonizing and begin to bleed, which also opens the path for potential infections.

Luckily, a same-day crown will supply you with a permanent crown at the end of your first visit to the dental practitioner.

This eliminates the requirement for a short-term crown, hence enabling you to prevent all the pain and discomfort.

Makes Sense

A conventional crown is not a very convenient treatment to have carried out, mostly because it usually takes at least 2 visits to finish.

If your short-term crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will need to make another visit to have it changed. This can be a huge issue if you have a busy schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that discourages taking time off in the middle of a busy work day.

However, a same-day crown can be finished in a single day, with a single appointment. This is made possible since many dental practitioners will acquire the equipment to make their own crowns, rather than having to buy crowns from a dental laboratory.

This lets you prevent the trouble of having to potentially spend weeks and numerous visits to your dentist before the treatment is over and finished with.

Speak with your dentist and ask about the advantages offered by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can supply you with a hassle-free and relatively pain-free alternative to a standard crown.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure where we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be used in certain scenarios where a tooth has been broken or become stained. These are usually minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this reasonably inexpensive methods instead of through a more expensive dental procedure.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a shiny finish as a last step.
