Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Identifying problems with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly utilized to discover:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Big on-screen X-rays make patient communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It allows the client and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a huge format for easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the client. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images electronically for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
