The Benefits Of Using Same Day Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It permits you to have your dental crown put in place in just one dental visit.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which imitates the look of your natural teeth therefore making it visually pleasing. It does not trigger temperature sensitivity which is true in the case of dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same resilience as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more precise. The impression made from this new technology is more accurate compared to traditional impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while standard dental impression is done using sodium alignate.

The only disadvantage of a same day crown is that not all patients are candidates for this treatment. Patients with extensive tooth damage that has reached the gum line requires a traditional crown rather than a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth needs a laboratory-manufactured crown due to the fact that they are carefully made than same day crowns.

The Discussion For Today Will Be:

Fillings

Fillings are done to remove decay, and replace the affected tooth structure. It is called a filling because brand-new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can lead to tooth pain and/or infection, and the tooth would require a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are 2 kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists supply both types of fillings, but find that many of their clients choose the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings offer excellent sturdiness and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that have to endure moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is removed when the dentist prepares the tooth, and this may lead to a smaller filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively connected, to the tooth, frequently allowing a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry during the entire filling procedure and they are subject to stain and staining over time. The life expectancy of a white filling can depend considerably on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also commonly utilized to fix front teeth that have actually broken or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is normally much cheaper than veneers or crowns. However, bonding typically does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
