ONE DAY TOOTH REPLACEMENT
GLENSTED MISSOURI

Updated On Sunday, June 24, 2018 03:50:41 PM

Our practice likes brand-new innovations, particularly when it enhances the dental care that we can supply to our clients. Because of this we now offer same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a remarkable new technology where stunning all porcelain crowns are created within 2 hours of the prep work of a tooth for a crown. The old procedure was where the dentist prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a lab to get the crown constructed. During this time the patient would have to have a temporary plastic crown that was normally uncomfortable.

Today, our equipment enables us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a new all porcelain crown within 2 hours. This means that the client leaves our office with the permanent crown that day!

  • There's no need to wear a temporary crown for two or three weeks.

  • There is no need to return once more to have the single visit crown inserted on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed up once again! No more shots!

Our office chooses same day crowns since it is made of gorgeous material as well as incredibly resilient.

If your thinking about a same day crown, please give our office a call.

Today's Discussion Has To Do With:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouth piece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery may be required to fix a badly damaged joint.
