There are various kinds of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have actually become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.
The entire mouth is analyzed and a determination is made as to which teeth will have to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal performance and appearance return and one just continues as usual. Commonly implants can be utilized to further stabilize the dentures.
It is important to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when compared with natural teeth. Dentures impact the type of food you are able to eat, your confidence in social situations, as well as your self-confidence.
A Few Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the exact same arch
- Restore chewing capability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other procedures
An upper full denture will almost always feel better than a lower full denture. In order to significantly improve the fit of a lower complete denture, we often recommend utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants positioned in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and considerably enhance comfort. Often, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for numerous years.
