TOOTH DAY

Generally, acquiring a crown for a damaged or deteriorating tooth is a long procedure that involves several steps and possibly several days of wait time before you get your new tooth.

A same day crown makes it possible for you to walk in to see a dentist and walk out with your new tooth currently in place. If you have a dentist offering same day crowns and are anticipating your visit, it is most likely that you will have some questions about the procedure.

Here are a few of the most significant concerns about same day crowns and the responses you will wish to know.

How is a same day crown any different from a routine dental crown?

The reality is, there is not a great deal of difference while doing so to obtain a same day crown.

The only distinction is the fact that you will not be sent home to await your long-term crown to be produced by a dental lab, as the crown will be made in the dental office while you are there.

This removed the time-consuming procedure of being fitted with a temporary crown and then later refitted with the long-term crown when it is complete.

How is it possible for a dental practitioner to produce a permanent crown during your appointment?

With developments in dental technology, if a dental practitioner has the best devices in the office, along with the best ability, they can develop the new tooth from a solid piece of ceramic while you wait. This happens using a device that takes the direct measurement of the mouth and existing teeth and transforms it into an actual prosthetic from the ceramic using exact computer technology.

Besides the evident advantage of less time to complete, exactly what are the advantages of same day crowns?

Same day crowns enables you to skip the entire step of a short-term crown, which can be a pain to take care of and may be prone to dislodging with simple oral hygiene, such as flossing and brushing.

Because whole steps are eliminated from the crowning process, such as multiple dental appointments, you might even save some money to have a new same day crown placed.

To walk into a dentist office and leave with a new crown in one visit is an ideal and logical option for patients who need help with a damaged tooth.

The Topic For Today Is:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of many clients, there are a number of ways to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will lighten teeth dramatically. Because tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple approaches: customizeded tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of everyday use. 3 different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the higher the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take numerous months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and practical bleaching procedure. The visit is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients like this treatment because it is so easy and quick!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays must be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
