The Benefits Of Using Single Visit Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It permits you to have your dental crown put in place in simply one dental appointment.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which mimics the look of your natural teeth therefore making it aesthetically pleasing. It does not trigger temperature sensitivity which is true in the case of dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same toughness as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more accurate. The impression made from this brand-new innovation is more precise as compared to traditional impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while standard dental impression is done using sodium alignate.

The only downside of a same day crown is that not all clients are candidates for this procedure. Clients with extensive tooth damage that has reached the gum line requires a traditional crown rather than a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth requires a laboratory-manufactured crown since they are meticulously made than same day crowns.

If you are interested with this kind of procedure or you have more questions or concerns regarding same day crowns, call us today.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery might be required to repair a severely damaged joint.
