Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)
Veneers are a very thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a lovely and attractive smile.
Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Just like a lot of dental restorations, veneers may at some point need replacement; however, they are still really durable and will last multiple years, giving you a long lasting, stunning smile.
How Are Veneers Placed?
Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is put over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy normally involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is generally referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique generally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be made at a dental lab. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory produced veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and stunning veneers.
