Same day crowns are an sophisticated dental technology that is used for the restoration of decayed, broken, or cracked teeth. This technology can create full crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown device crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made from compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are more durable than lab restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most useful feature of receiving a same day crown restoration is that it is achieved in one appointment. In addition to the advantage of a one appointment restoration, there is no unpleasant impression material to bite on or a temporary crown to wear.

The procedure for placement of a same day crown restoration is extremely simple. The primary step is to get rid of all decay from the tooth. The dentist will then shape the tooth in preparation to take a digital picture. The tooth is then sprayed with a really fine powder. This permits the digital camera to take an acceptable image. When this image is captured, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will allow the dentist to create the restoration right in front of you.

Once the design is completed, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes approximately 15 minutes. You can actually view this process if you would like. When the restoration is finished milling, the dental practitioner will position the restoration on your tooth.

Today's Subject Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Finding issues with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive procedures or surgeries. X-rays are mainly used to spot:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Large on-screen X-rays make client communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the physician to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a huge format for much easier detection of issues, all while reducing the radiation direct exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent establishing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you rapidly.
