Same day crowns
In the past, getting dental crowns suggested coming into the dentist's office at least two times. The first check-up included getting an impression of your tooth and a temporary crown. Then, a couple of weeks later, a second check-up allowed for the short-term crown to be eliminated and a new long-term crown to be placed on your tooth. We use the latest innovation making dental work easier for you and your busy schedule, with same day crowns.

Getting Dental Crowns
We are proud to use a cutting edge same day crown technology to create ceramic onlays and crowns that fit just right, in just one check-up with a little camera to produce a 3D image of the tooth that needs to be repaired. This means a physical mold, which is undesirable and time consuming, is no longer required.

Using CAD/CAM software, We develop a perfectly fitting restoration using an on-site milling device. This technology can produce the new restoration in as little as 15 minutes.

The restoration is adhered to your tooth using a bonding product, and the new addition will match your natural teeth so nobody will ever know you had a repair.

Call us today to find out more about same day crowns innovation, and take care of those problems you may have been avoiding.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad scope of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

The Topic For Today Will Be:

Dental Crowns

A crown (or cap) is a covering that covers the whole tooth surface area restoring it to its original sizes and shape. A crown protects and reinforces the tooth structure providing the tooth a longer life span than it would have if recovered by fillings or other kinds of restorations.

Crowns are full coverage restorations that are used to cover a tooth that is most likely to break, or is too broken down to be restored with a filling. They are most typically done after root canal treatments, or when a huge filling breaks. The bigger the hole made by a cavity that needs to be treated, the more likely a crown will be needed. Even after a filling is put in a big cavity, a tooth is more likely to break. Bear in mind that the jaw muscles are the strongest in the body. Teeth go through tremendous pressures. Crowns ride over the weakened tooth, offering strength and securing the tooth against breakage. A busted or split tooth is a far more serious matter and far more difficult to treat. Crowns prevent this, as well as making for a nice smile.

It takes 2 appointments to bring back a tooth with a crown. In the first appointment any decay is removed from the tooth and it is shaped to accept the crown. Then an impression is made of the tooth for use in making a crown. In between the two visits the crown is made, generally of high-strength porcelain over gold alloy, all ceramic material, or gold. A short-term crown is used during this time. In the 2nd visit this short-term crown is removed. Then the {permanent crown is adjusted as needed and then cemented in place.

What Does Getting A Crown Include?

A crown treatment normally requires two visits. Your very first visit will include taking impressions that will be used to create your custom-made crown. A mold will also be used to produce a short-term crown which will remain on your tooth for roughly 2 weeks till your brand-new crown is made by a dental lab.

While the tooth is numb, the dentist will prepare the tooth by eliminating any decay and shaping the surface area to appropriately fit the crown. As soon as these details are accomplished, your short-term crown will be put with temporary cement and your bite will be inspected to guarantee you are biting correctly.

At your second appointment your short-term crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your brand-new crown will be thoroughly positioned to ensure the spacing and bite are accurate.

You will be given care guidelines and encouraged to have routine dental visits to inspect your crown. As always, appropriate oral hygiene will help extend the life of your brand-new crown.
