Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)
Veneers are a very thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and attractive smile.
Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers might someday need replacement; however, they are still really resilient and will last years, providing you a long lasting, stunning smile.
How Are Veneers Applied?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy normally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is typically referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy generally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is typically less uncomfortable. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care instructions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and gorgeous veneers.
