Temporary crowns and 2nd visits for crowns are now usually unnecessary thanks to the same day crown technology. We provide this exciting one-visit crown technology in our office, adding greater convenience to the process of getting a crown. The waiting time in between your treatment and when you get your long-term crown is eliminated.

The same day crown innovation is an instrument that enables ceramic restorations (crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays) to be carried out in one visit instead of 2. The computer coordinates with a digital camera permitting the dentist to make digital impressions without the discomfort of bulky impression material.

After taking the picture the computer takes over and mills your customized crown right away so that we can cement your brand-new crown that same day. The outcomes we see are remarkable. With the same day crowns, the fit, strength, and aesthetics of the ceramic restorations are outstanding.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full scope of indications: onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers and inlays.

Today's Conversation Has To Do With:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is required when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and identify issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it requires root canal treatment. Once this occurs, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not heal on its own. It can even weaken the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and may be very painful. Symptoms that the pulp has actually become infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no signs are apparent and the person is unaware of any issue up until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. When the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is suggested for bring back a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
